Gentle, effective acupuncture care to support your child’s health, comfort, and development in Groton, MA
● SPECIALIZED PEDIATRIC CARE
Specialized Care
for Children
Many parents explore acupuncture when their child struggles with sleep, digestion, allergies, anxiety, or frequent illness, seeking a gentle, natural way to help. Pediatric acupuncture supports the body’s ability to regulate and restore balance. At The Violette House, we offer gentle care for children of all ages in a calm, kid-friendly space.
● PEDIATRIC TECHNIQUES
Gentle Approach for Children
Many pediatric treatments do not involve needles. Gentle methods like acupressure and Shonishin support balance through touch. When used, ultra-fine needles are brief, comfortable, and most children relax easily.
● FOR ALL AGES
Care That Grows With Your Child
Children grow quickly, and their care should evolve with them. Pediatric sessions are gently adapted from infants and toddlers to school-age children and teenagers, with each visit paced so children feel at ease.

● QUESTIONS WE HEAR A LOT
What You Might Be Wondering
-
Not at all. Children at The Violette House experience very gentle techniques made just for young bodies, so treatments feel more like a light tap than a needle. Depending on age and comfort, we may use tiny needles or non-needle options like acupressure or Shonishin to keep the experience calm and easy.
-
Yes. Research shows pediatric acupuncture can safely support pain, digestion, sleep, anxiety, and more. At The Violette House, we use these therapies as part of an integrative approach that complements your child’s medical care, offering gentle support for their overall wellness and development.
-
We welcome children from newborn through adolescence. Our team adjusts techniques to each developmental stage so treatments feel supportive, safe, and age-appropriate. Whether your child is an infant, a toddler, or a teen, we shape sessions around their comfort level and individual needs.
-
It depends on your child’s goals and the concern we’re addressing. Some kids improve quickly, while others benefit from steady, ongoing care. During your first visit at The Violette House, we’ll outline a personalized plan and talk through what progress may look like.
-
Wiggling is expected. Children explore, shift, and move, and that’s perfectly fine. Sessions at The Violette House are flexible and playful, allowing your child to sit, cuddle, talk, or move around as needed. We meet them exactly where they are, both emotionally and developmentally.
-
Needle worries are very common. We move slowly, explain gently, and never push. Many kids relax once they experience how soft and quick the sensation is. And if needles still feel overwhelming, The Violette House offers effective non-needle methods like Shonishin and acupressure.
-
Yes—your presence matters. Most children feel more secure with a caregiver nearby, so at The Violette House you’re welcome to sit close, hold your child, or simply be present. This support helps create a calm, trusting environment during each session.
-
Coverage differs by plan. The Violette House is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and AllWays/Mass General Brigham, and we provide superbills to help with reimbursement. While not all policies cover acupuncture fully, many families receive partial benefits. You can check your coverage here.
